On May 6, Gianluca Statti, Partner at PRAXI IP, and Xieshu Wang, Consultant at PRAXI China Desk, were invited to the Re-election Ceremony of the 4th Governing Council of UNIIC (Italy-China Entrepreneurs Union). Founded in 2012, UNIIC currently has more than 200 members, all of whom are second-generation Chinese and founders in Italy of businesses active in various sectors.
The event was attended by more than 400 people, including numerous members of the Italian and Chinese business community and political worlds, including Chinese Consul General in Milan Kan Liu, Vice Consul General Kaibin Zhang, Senator Cristina Tajani, Councillor Pierfrancesco Maran, Confcommercio Milano Lodi Monza e Brianza Secretary General Marco Barbieri, Italy China Council Foundation Director General Marco Bettin, and Guoquan Huang, President of the Milan Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The outgoing President, Chaohua Hu, reviewed the activities and achievements of UNIIC during his tenure, pointing out that UNIIC has initiated a number of successful cultural and business projects in cooperation with the City of Milan and other institutions to foster the active integration of the Chinese community in Italy in support of the friendship between the two countries.
New President Jie Lin, after his inaugural speech, mentioned several projects he will focus on in the future, including strengthening cooperation with Italian companies and educational institutions, offering members more opportunities for exchange and learning, and a focus on cultural heritage and vocational training for the next generation of Chinese.
In the face of the current complex and ever-changing international situation, it is even more crucial to establish and enhance the strategic partnership between China and Italy. The year 2024 also marks the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo’s death, an anniversary that renews the historical memory of China-Italy relations.
In the coming months, PRAXI, UNIIC and ICCF will jointly hold a series of conferences on intellectual property and business management to promote Sino-Italian business and cultural exchanges and cooperation.
