This module is the beginning of approaching the Lean method to understand what it is and what it is not, how it has evolved from codification and diffusion in the Western world to the present day, and to “learn to see” the waste inherent in all processes. It can also be a time for reflection in a path already taken, to re-discuss the basic assumptions, human and methodological aspects that promote or hinder the achievement of results. Examples from different organizations are brought in, with case histories and flashes of possible tools to address waste, keeping the focus on implementing Lean as a journey, and the consequent need to continue and extend “waste hunting” as much as possible.
